Having a bit of trouble with being extremely bloated from this diet on those days.

My friends keep telling me that I will continue to feel this way with a carb/veg diet that I need the animal protien...the soy makes me extremely bloated.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Phyills,

How much soy and what types are you eating? We can make some adjustments very easily. Soy can sometimes cause flatulence-gas which can feel terrible.

Can you list what you're eating and amounts so I can make some substitution suggestions for you. I do encourage those who want to attempt a semi-vegetarian diet to do it during the luteal phase. It's also very common that women have difficulty with the additional fiber in the diet from fruits, vegetables and high fiber cereals. Make sure you have a little beano on hand to help with digestion until your colon becomes used to handling the additional fiber.

You can still eat fish and poultry in the luteal phase, but avoid red meats.
