1/3 cup minced onion
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
3/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup olive oil (reduce the calories by reducing oil to 1/3 cup and increasing vinegar to 1 cup)
1 Tbs. honey
2 Tbs. stone-ground mustard
Just mix the ingredients in a bowl. Each recipe makes 1 1/2 cups. Store in favorite shaker and refrigerate. Shake well before you use. Good for about a week and a half, remember it doesn't contain preservatives.
*add your favorite fresh or dried herbs like rosemary or parsley.
