If you've ever worked with me, you know I'm a green pusher. Green as in green vegetable pusher. Take my word for it, the essential vitamins and minerals we get from leafy greens and cruciferous vegetable are too numerous to mention. Drinking one of these smoothies every morning or even as an afternoon snack will help you get nearly every essential nutrient you're going to need. If you hate greens, you'll love this smoothie.

Essential Power Smoothie (GF/DF- use organic)
  • 1 small green apple or 1/2 large
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 1/2 cup strawberries
  • 1 small orange (peeled)
  • 2/3 cup broccoli
  • 1 cup baby spinach
  • 1 cup unsweetened non-dairy milk (almond, coconut, hemp, rice, organic soy)
  • 1-2 tablespoons Chia seed

Wash and cut to fit inside blender. Blend until smooth.
Note: Adding chia seeds will thicken the smoothie into a pudding consistency. Add water or more milk to thin.

This makes 2 servings but may also be used as meal replacement by drinking the whole thing.
Nutrition note, the following is with 2Tbs Chia seeds.
Per serving:
Calories 175, fat 4.5g, carbohydrates 30g, Pro 7.5g, sugar 16g, (no added sugar).
fiber 11g= 50%
calcium 259mg= 16%
Iron 3.1mg= 31%
Vit C 197mg=33%
B1 .3mg =26%
B2 .3mg 24%
B3 1.7mg 12%
Magnesium 100mg=24%
